Online Dog Training

This is just a fun little video I made to celebrate the release of my new online dog training course. I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be writing more about this soon to give a LOT more specifics on what you’ll find inside.

You can also check out everything you’re getting with the course at this link. (One of the things you get immediately is a FREE dog training CD. I think you’ll like it…)

Submissive Urination

Submissive urination is a problem many dog owners encounter at one time or another. The GOOD news is that this is your dog acknowledging your pack leadership. The BAD news is that submissive urination in dogs can be embarrassing for you as the owner and frustrating because of the mess. Here’s a quick tip I gave to a caller from an appearance on Fox News…

Dog Training – Teaching Come

Teaching your dog to come when called — first time, every time — could just save his life. Here are a few quick tips with video to help you do it.

My online course (click here to check it out) has an entire lesson on teaching this to your dog.

I hope this helps. Let me know what you think…

When I’m teaching dog training come is one of the first things I show my clients. It’s an extremely important and potentially life-saving skill. Take the time to learn to teach your dog how to come when called.

Positive Dog Training

Positive dog training means that you don’t just train your dog what NOT to do, you also TEACH your dog what you do want him to do.

The most important concept when practicing positive dog training is to understand that “No!” doesn’t teach. Yes, it may stop bad behavior in the moment, but it doesn’t teach the dog how you want him to behave over the long haul.

Here’s a discussion I had about this very topic on CNN.

Enjoy…

Housebreaking a Puppy

I know that this is a HUGE issue for many of my clients, and I hear about it constantly when I’m doing media appearances like this one from Fox News.

Housebreaking a puppy can be challenging, but 99% of the time, the issue is with the owners and not the dog.

Here are some tips I share with the viewers of the show. I thought you might find them helpful.

This is a technique for house training a dog that I’ve been able to teach to numerous dogs.

It works really, really well and is extremely convenient for both you and your dog.

Here’s how you do it…

Hi everyone,

NEW! I just put together a new complete “mini-course” on how to get ANY dog to stop pulling on the leash. If this won’t cure the problem, nothing will. CLICK HERE now to check it out. You’re going to love it!

A dog that pulls on his leash, who walks you instead of you walking him, can be incredibly frustrating, not to mention embarrassing and sometimes even dangerous.

Here’s an easy technique to correct this behavior, which also has the added benefit of making your dog pay close attention to you every time you go on your walks together.

(This is from an appearance I made on Fox News a while ago. TV being what it is, they couldn’t show the “behind-the-scenes” training I was doing, but nonetheless there are lots of great tips in this video to help stop a dog pulling on leash problem.)

I look forward to hearing what you think!
